A |
A Project Manager will be assigned to each TCDMA property. Project Managers are responsible for ensuring deer biological data is collected and recorded for the DNR. Project Managers will issue copies of Deer Management Permits for properties they manage where applicable. |
B |
Project Managers have the exclusive authority, delegated by the Executive Committee, to set minimum standards for the size (antler spread) of bucks harvested on the projects they manage. On projects with a minimum size restriction, any buck harvested with an outside spread less than that established by the Project Manager will result in a fine by the Executive Committee. Repetitive offenses will result in dismissal from the TCDMA. |
C |
Park only in designated areas when hunting on project properties. |
D |
Place TCDMA identification placard on the dashboard of the front window, or attach it to the rearview mirror so that it is clearly visible through the windshield. |
E |
Place alphabet letter on dashboard or rearview mirror to indicate which hunting area you are using on the project property. |
F |
Do not litter. Pick up litter and dispose of it properly. |
G |
Do not smoke at any time while on a TCDMA project property. This is a fire safety issue. No exceptions. |
H |
Do not bring non-TCDMA guests on project properties. TCDMA members may be invited as guests to hunt on the project property under a policy as determined by the Project Manager. |
I |
Obey all state and federal game laws. |
J |
Hunt only in hunting areas designated by the property owner or the TCDMA Project Manager. |
K |
Use a flashlight when going to and from a stand in darkness or very low light conditions. |
L |
Use a safety belt or harness while climbing to or descending from a tree stand, and while in the tree stand. |
M |
Treat everyone with courtesy and respect. |
N |
Carry your state hunting license, TCDMA identification card, permission to hunt slip, copy of DNR Deer Management Permit and authorization (when applicable) at all times when hunting. |
O |
All antlered bucks must be registered on the member’s Maryland Big Game Harvest Record along with the required DNR Confirmation Number. |
P |
All deer harvested on a DMP must be antlerless. The TCDMA strongly discourages the harvesting of antlerless bucks or “button bucks.” While it may happen that a button buck is accidentally harvested, the TCDMA goal is to keep the accidental harvest of button bucks below 10% of the total harvest of deer on TCDMA project properties. Members who repeatedly harvest button bucks may be fined or disciplined by the Executive Committee. |
Q |
Members are responsible for pulling jawbones on each deer they harvest and for providing biological data from each deer as required to complete the data collection tags or project registration logs. Jawbones and data must be delivered to the designated TCDMA location for the property on which the deer was harvested. This does not have to be done on the day of the kill, but must be done before the end of the hunting season. If the deer is taken under a Deer Management Permit, members are responsible for providing the Project Manager with the DNR Confirmation Number after a deer is harvested. |
R |
Scouting policies during the hunting season are established by the Project Manager. Scouting should be avoided once hunting starts on a property. In order to keep scent and disturbances at a minimum, hunters should go to their stands and return without walking around in the area. |
S |
Members may take their immediate family members from the same household (including significant others) hunting with them as long as the family members are still dependents. The guests must hunt in the same hunting area as the TCDMA member. |
T |
When planning to hunt a satellite property, the member must contact the Project Manager at least one day prior to the hunt to make sure it is all right to go to the project. This must be done to ensure no conflicts arise as when multiple hunters show up to hunt the same place. Some satellite properties have limited stand sites. Some satellite properties are also politically sensitive due to their location and anti-hunters in the neighborhood. For these reasons, it is essential that the Project Manager know when a TCDMA member is hunting on the satellite property. |
U |
Any expenditure of funds in excess of one hundred dollars ($100) must be approved in advance by the Executive Committee. |
V |
New members will be responsible for paying an initiation fee of $150 upon acceptance into TCDMA. Dues for the following years will be as determined by TCDMA. (Dues for calendar year 2007 were $200.) If a hunter terminates his membership, he will be refunded $25 if the following criteria are met: (1) all keys belonging to gates or other TCDMA property/items are returned; (2) all vehicle placards are returned; (3) TCDMA ID card is returned. |
